Final shot to hit into triple play

Saturday marks the final opportunity for players to win in to Sunday’s Triple Play event. The qualifier has a $110 buy in and the top 10 percent of finishers will advance to Sunday’s finals.

As an alternative, players can buy into the finals directly, where one in 12 entries will win a grand prize package worth $10,500. The package includes $1,000 in travel as well as entries to the three major spring tournaments: Keeneland’s Grade One Gamble, Santa Anita’s Preakness event, and Monmouth’s Pick Your Prize contest. Note that these prizes (and all prizes currently available on DRF Tournaments) are transferable. If you can’t make one of the events, you can sell them. Players can have up to three entries in the Triple Play finals.

Also on Saturday, there are one-day qualifiers for the Keeneland and Monmouth contests. Keeneland costs $162 and one in 25 get $3,500 prize packages. Momouth’s buy-in is $126 and one in 23 receive packages worth $2,500.

In addition to the Triple Play finals, Sunday will also feature a qualifier for the Wynn Handicapping Challenge. The Wynn contest, which takes place Aug. 4-5 at the Wynn Las Vegas, is one the summer’s three premier events, along with Del Mar’s Handicapping Championship and the Battle of Saratoga. It’s a mythical-money event focusing only on Del Mar and Saratoga and the prize pool is expected to be $200,000. For Sunday’s qualifier, $108 is required to play and one in 27 entries will receive a prize worth $2,500.
