Email

A Gibson County filly topped the eighth-mile work tab with a 10-second breeze at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's under-tack show on Sunday.

The show was the first of two previews for the OBS February select 2-year-old sale, which will take place in Ocala, Fla., on Feb. 13.

The Gibson County filly is consigned by McKathan Farms, agent, and is out of the Pentelicus mare Young American. Currently named American County, the filly is slated to sell as Hip No. 1.

Three juveniles posted the fastest quarter-mile time of 21 seconds at the preview. Hip No. 45, a Yes It's True-Cocktail (Relaunch) colt consigned by Hoby and Layna Kight, agent, is a full brother to stakes-winner True Tails. Hip No. 65, also consigned by the Kights' agency, is a Lightnin N Thunder colt out of Far Sighted Sal, by Distant View. And Hip No. 176, a daughter of Forest Wildcat and Texas Robbery, by Mr. Prospector, is a half-sister to stakes-winner Daiwa Bandit; she is consigned by Paul Sharp, agent.

Replays of the workouts are available at www.obssales.com. The auction's second under-tack preview will takes place on Feb. 11 at 9 a.m.
