Fatal Bullet confirms affinity for synthetics


Fatal Bullet ($2.40) was kept just off the early pace by jockey Eurico Da Silva and rallied to draw off by 1 3/4 lengths in the $100,000 Tom Ridge Labor Day Stakes at Presque Isle Downs on Monday evening.

Trained by Reade Baker, Fatal Bullet is now 6 for 7 lifetime over synthetic surfaces. MJ's Enchanteur set the early pace but then faded to second, 7 1/4 lengths in front of Honest trip.

The winning time for the six-furlong Tom Ridge was 1.08.60.

* First Class Fever ($7.60) defeated favored Sky Haven by a nose in the $75,000 Channel Three for Pennsylvania-bred 2-year-old fillies.

Under Jesus Castanon, First Class Fever ran 5 1/2 furlongs in 1.05.18.

* Juke Joint ($2.60) cruised by 7 3/4 lengths under Dale Becker in the $75,000 Send More Money for statebred 2-year-old colts and geldings.

Juke Joint has won his first two races by a combined 16 1/2 lengths and has yet to be tested. He covered 5 1/2 furlongs in 1.04.14.
