Fast times close out OBS breeze show


Saturday’s sixth and final session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring 2-year-olds in training under-tack show saw its fastest collective performance yet, with 10 horses tying for the overall fastest furlong and two reaching the fastest time at a quarter-mile.

The 10 horses to breeze an eighth-mile in 9 4/5 seconds on Saturday brought the overall total over the six sessions during the under-tack show to 25. The horses worked over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

Following are the horses to achieve the co-fastest time at an eighth during Saturday’s under-tack show.

Hip 1019, a City Zip colt out of the winning Wild Again mare La Defense, whose six winners include stakes winner and producer Quelle Surprise and stakes-placed Thunder Run. Grade 3 winner Noisette can be found in the Florida-bred’s extended family. De Meric Sales consigns the colt as agent for Golden Legacy Stables.

Hip 1023, Pink Cotton, a High Cotton colt out of the stakes-winning Double Honor mare Lady in Pink, who is the dam of three winners from as many runners. She is from the family of Grade 3 winner Fuller’s Folly. Pick View consigns the Florida-bred as agent.

Hip 1032, a Discreet Cat filly out of the stakes-winning Two Punch mare Laila’s Punch, who is the dam of two winners from three foals to race. Niall Brennan Stables consigns the colt, as agent.

Hip 1040, Johnny Obvious, a Wildcat Heir colt out of the unplaced Lord Carson mare Lanzada’s Sonata, who has had four winners from six foals to race. Grade 2 winner Ratings and Grade 3 winner Recording can be found in the Florida bred’s extended family, and he is consigned by Journeyman Bloodstock Services, agent.

Hip 1048, a First Samurai filly out of the winning E Dubai mare Leinster Lady, who is the dam of one winner from two starters. Grade 3 winner Lakota Brave and Grade 3-placed Silverdale and My Adonis can be found in the extended family of this filly, who is consigned as agent by McKee Bloodstock.

Hip 1090, a Majesticperfection colt out of the winning Gold Case mare Magic Belle, whose three foals to race are all winners. The New York-bred’s page includes Group 1 winner Espirro. RiceHorse Stables consigns him as agent.

Hip 1111, a Florida-bred Blame filly out of the Capote mare Marvelous Me, who has no winners from five foals to race. She is from the family of champion Gallant Bob, and Grade 1 winner Mandy’s Gold. De Meric Sales consigns the filly as agent.

Hip 1129, a first-crop Shackleford filly out of the unplaced Sunday Silence mare Million Gift, who is the dam of three winners from six runners, including stakes winner Million Seller. The unraced stakes producer Nipigon is also a half-sister. Her second dam is the multiple Grade 1 winner Maplejinsky, putting her in the same family as English Horse of the Year Dayjur, champion Sky Beauty, Indian Horse of the Year Quasar, and Grade 1 winners Violence, Tale of Ekati, Pleasant Home, and Pine Island. King’s Equine consigns the filly as agent.

Hip 1136, a first-crop Overdriven colt out of the unraced Grand Slam mare Overdriven. Consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent, the Pennsylvania-bred is from the family of Grade 3 winner Move and Grade 3-placed stakes winners Falling Sky and Reforest.

Hip 1185, a Tizway filly out of the unraced Successful Appeal mare Nec Metu, from the family of Grade 2 winner Gild, Grade 3 winners Senor Rojo, Discover, High Stakes Player, and Arch Mistress. The Pennsylvania-bred is consigned by Randy Bradshaw, agent.

Two juveniles covered a quarter-mile in 20 2/5 seconds, bringing the final total to three over the course of the breeze show.

Hip 1127, a Ghostzapper filly out of the stakes-winning Freud mare Mighty Eros, whose two foals to race are winners. The Florida-bred’s extended family includes Grade 3 winner League Darling and Grade 2-placed Burley’s Gold. Off the Hook consigns the filly, as agent.

Hip 1214, a Quality Road filly out of the winning War Chant mare Over Andover, whose first foal to race is a winner.  The dam is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Called to Serve, and hails from the family of Grade 1 winner Behrens and Grade 3 winners Hot Novel and Legislator. She is consigned by Q Bar J Thoroughbreds, agent.
