Fast Gator remained undefeated in two starts Sunday when she held off Orogrande by a length in the $134,770 Rio Grande Senorita Thoroughbred Futurity at Ruidoso Downs. It was another two lengths back to Gone Shoppin in third. The Rio Grande Senorita was one of three undercard stakes supporting the Grade 1, $1.3 million All American Derby for Quarter Horses won by Hold Air Hostage. The Rio Grande Senorita was restricted to 2-year-old fillies bred in New Mexico. Fast Gator ($10.60) was always prominent, and covered the 5 1/2 furlongs on a fast track in 1:05.85. Ry Eikleberry was aboard for trainer Henry Dominguez. Fast Gator races for her breeders, J. Kirk and Judy Robison. She earned $67,385 for the win Sunday. Fast Gator is a daughter of Diabolical.  World champion romps Jessies First Down, the reigning world champion Quarter Horse, rolled to a 2 1/2-length win over nemesis Zoomin Effortlessly in the Grade 1, $200,000 All American Gold Cup. It was another head back to Apollitical Ok in third. Jessies First Down ($7.20) led at every point of call, increasing his advantage with each passing stride to cover 440 yards on a fast track in 21.13 seconds. Zoomin Effortlessly had trouble at the start, rallied from last, then was vanned off following the race, according to the chart of the All American Gold Cup issued by Equibase. Rodrigo Vallejo rode Jessies First Down for trainer James Padgett, II. The Texas-bred horse by Fdd Dynasty races for his breeder, Ted G. Abrams. * Tough to Bee ($7.60) held for a neck win over 4-5 favorite Imperial Eagle in the $100,000 First Down Dash, the consolation for the All American Derby. The winner covered 440 yards on a fast track in 21.42 seconds. Imperial Eagle, the winner of last year’s All American Futurity, had trouble out of the gate and rallied. Tough to Bee is owned by Paragon Farms, trained by Trey Wood and was ridden by Ricky Ramirez. * In other Sunday stakes in New Mexico, My Mirage ($13.20) became a stakes winner in the $94,073 Casino at The Downs at Albuquerque Derby. He won by 1 3/4 lengths over Go for a Stroll. The 6 1/2-furlong race was restricted to 3-year-olds bred in New Mexico. My Mirage covered the distance on a fast track in 1:15.01. Jorge Martin Bourdieu was aboard the winner for breeder-owner Bauer Farm and trainer Dick Cappellucci. My Mirage, who is by Diabolical, earned $47,037.
