Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 303 juveniles to its April 1 2-year-olds in training auction at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. That number is down from last year's catalog of 355, reflecting a general 2-year-old market trend of smaller catalogs this year. Fasig-Tipton officials hope the 2008 catalog's sire power will be a draw. "The vast majority of our 2-year-olds are by stallions known nationally, not regionally," said the company's Texas sales director, Tim Boyce, noting the presence of, among others, first-season sires Congaree, Medaglia d'Oro, and Pleasantly Perfect, The under-tack show is set for March 30 at 10 a.m. at Lone Star. Catalogs will be available by Feb. 25.
