Fasig-Tipton Midlantic's second under-tack show got under way Thursday in Timonium, Md., at 9 a.m., an hour earlier than expected, thanks to stormy weather on Wednesday that forced sale officials to cancel some of the first under-tack session's workouts.

The Thursday under-tack show was to feature about 70 additional horses whose public timed works were postponed by the Wednesday cancellation. The two under-tack previews showcase horses in the May 21-22 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic preferred 2-year-old auction at Timonium.

By 1 p.m., in the second under-tack preview's early hours, the fastest eighth-mile time was 10.20 seconds. Five horses posted that time: Hip No. 282, a Repent-Saramy colt; Hip no. 283, a Put it Back-Saratoga Girl colt; Hip No. 304, a Distorted Humor-Seventh Choice filly; Hip No. 313, a Broken Vow-Sheza Wild Thing filly; and Hip No. 329, a Stormy Atlantic-Ski Racer colt.

The fastest quarter-mile time at that hour was the 21.20-second breeze by Hip No. 358, a More Than Ready-Summer Memories filly.

At Wednesday's abbreviated preview, Hip Nos. 11 and 46 posted the fastest eighth-mile time of 10.20 seconds. Hip No. 11 is a Carson City-Golden Jenny filly, and Hip No. 46 is a Rock Slide-Imabove You colt. Hip No. 9, a Fusaichi Pegasus-Gloriosa filly breezed the fastest quarter-mile time of 21.60. Hip Nos. 216 and 223 had the fastest three-eighths time of 35.80 seconds. Hip No. 216 is an El Corredor-Power Play filly, and Hip No. 223 is a Trust N Luck-Princess Frog colt.
