Fasig-Tipton sale: Hot Cha Cha, Love Theway Youare bring seven figures
By Nicole Russo

Grade 1 winners Hot Cha Cha and Love Theway Youare both attracted seven-figure prices during the single session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall mixed sale Monday night, selling for $1 million and $1.45 million, respectively.
Katsumi Yoshida signed the ticket on Hot Cha Cha, continuing an active evening for Japanese buyers. Earlier in the night, Shadai Farm purchased Grade 1 winner Contested for $2.3 million and Grade 1 winner C.S. Silk for $1.45 million. Yoshida also had purchased Grade 1 winner Killer Graces for $850,000 and Grade 2 winner California Nectar, in foal to Arch, for $470,000.
Hot Cha Cha, consigned by Dapple Stud, agent, is in foal to Kitten’s Joy. The 6-year-old Cactus Ridge mare won four graded stakes and earned just less than $1 million in her racing career, with her signature victory coming in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes in 2009.
Out of the Broad Brush mare Reduced Sentence, Hot Cha Cha is a half-sister to two winners; other notable family members include champions Inside Information, Smuggler, and Kona Gold; Grade 1 winner Educated Risk; and leading sire What A Pleasure.
A short while later, Love Theway Youare brought the hammer down at $1.45 million, going to My Meadowview LLC.
Offered as a racing or broodmare prospect by Hartwell Farm, agent, Love Theway Youare has won 3 of 21 career starts, including this year’s Grade 1 Vanity Handicap.
The 4-year-old Arch filly is out of the stakes-winning and graded stakes-placed Tabasco Cat mare Diversa, a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Luftikus and stakes winner Sensitivity. Notable family members include multiple Grade 1 winner Sabin.
