Fasig-Tipton releases 2014 Kentucky July yearling sale catalog

The catalog for the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July yearling sale, the first part of a full day of selling, is now available online.

The one-day sale will be held Monday, July 14 at Fasig-Tipton’s Newtown Paddocks headquarters in Lexington, Ky., beginning at 10 a.m. The yearling section will be immediately followed by the second annual summer selected horses of racing age sale. The sale got a boost this week with the announcement that it will feature a dispersal from prominent owner and breeder Eugene Menlyk.

“Monday, July 14 is a day of selling not to be missed,” Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning said. “Firstly, we have an outstanding group of yearlings to showcase to buyers, as a well as a larger horses of racing age catalog as we build on last year’s successes.  Moreover, the Melnyk dispersal will add extra excitement, as buyers will have access to bloodlines and racing quality rarely exposed to the public market.  There will be something for everyone at Fasig-Tipton this July.”

The July yearling catalog features 265 selected offerings, a three percent increase from the 2013 renewal. The catalog is currently available on the Fasig-Tipton website and on the Equineline catalog app, and print copies will be available at all Fasig-Tipton offices by Monday, June 16.

The catalog for the Horses of Racing Age sale will be available online July 1, with print catalogs available on the grounds at sale time.

The Melnyk dispersal, announced on Wednesday, will feature 10 mares, four weanlings and five yearlings to be included in the July sale’s yearling catalog, along with 23 2-year-olds and approximately 30 horses of racing age to be included in the horses of racing age portion.
