Fasig-Tipton November: Grade 1 winner Her Smile first to seven figures

Grade 1 winner Her Smile became the first horse in a star-studded catalog to sell for seven figures at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall selected mixed sale Monday night, selling for $1,075,000 to SF Bloodstock.

The 5-year-old Include mare was offered as the property of Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs, which purchased her for $1 million out of the 2011 Fasig-Tipton November sale. She sold in foal to Adena Springs stallion Ghostzapper.

A stakes winner as a juvenile, Her Smile captured the Grade 1 Prioress Stakes at Belmont Park in 2011, and later finished third in in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. In all, she won four of 18 career starts for earnings of $462,314.

Her Smile is one of five winners from as many starters out of the winning Capote mare Hepburn.
