Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall yearling sale catalog online

A roster of 1,130 offerings comprises the catalog for this year’s edition of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearling sale, which is now available online.

The three-day sale will be held October 21-23 at Fasig-Tipton’s Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Ky., with each session beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern.

This year’s Kentucky Fall Yearling sale catalog is ten percent smaller than last year’s book, which featured 1,254 horses cataloged.

Keeping with the upward trend of the auction market over the past few years, the 2012 Kentucky fall yearling sale posted across-the-board gains, with 880 horses sold for revenues of $22,991,600, up 35 percent from the previous year’s sale. The average rose nine percent to $26,127, while the median increased six percent to $12,750.

The sale-topper last year was a Speightstown colt, who went to Mandy Pope’s Whisper Hill Farm for $440,000.

“The 2013 yearling market has been very encouraging thus far and The October Sale will have a wide selection of attractive offerings for buyers,” said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning Jr.
“And after several years of good results in the sales ring and at the racetrack, the quality of yearlings entered for the sale improves each year.”

Physical copies of the catalog will be available at all Fasig-Tipton offices by October 4.
