Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 349 yearlings for its Kentucky July yearling sale, which opens the major-market yearling sales season in North America. The auction is set for Tuesday, July 10 at Fasig-Tipton's Newtown Paddocks facility in Lexington, Ky. It will be preceded by the Fasig-Tipton July selected horses of racing age sale on July 9, with the catalog for that sale to be released at a later date.  Last year, 300 yearlings were cataloged for the July sale. “July was a very healthy market last year, and as a result consignors have responded with increased quality and quantity,” Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning said in a release. “This year’s catalogue is our largest for July in nearly a decade, and boasts a significant uptick in sire power, as well.” The July sale includes two yearlings from the first crop of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, who has already been represented by two seven-figure offerings in the auction ring. The two are a filly out of Yong Musician, from the immediate family of Mind Your Biscuits, and a filly out of Distorted Point, whose dam is Grade 1 winner Point Ashley.
