Fasig-Tipton has 401 to sell


GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Fasig-Tipton Texas has cataloged 401 horses to its summer yearling sale, to be held Aug. 27-28 at Lone Star Park. The sale is annually held in conjunction with the Texas Thoroughbred Association.

The auction will open with a 121-lot selected session on Aug. 27. On both days the sale will start at 11 a.m. Central. Among the stallions represented in this year's sale are Smoke Glacken, Indian Charlie, Boston Harbor, Forest Wildcat, Valid Expectations, and Wild Zone. Consignors include Roger Daly, Millennium Farms, Benchmark Training Center, Kathryn Earley Thoroughbreds, Kirsten Johnson; and Highclere Sales.

Last year, Fasig-Tipton cataloged 405 yearlings at its Lone Star sale. The select session averaged $24,373, the overall sale $10,424. The sales-topper was Driving Hennessy, a Hennessy colt who brought $150,000.
