Fasig-Tipton expands October yearling sale to four days

Fasig-Tipton has cataloged a record number of entries for its Kentucky fall sale of yearlings and will expand this year's edition by an extra day as a result.

The sale house has cataloged 1,400 entries to date and will conduct the auction from Monday, Oct. 19 to Thursday, Oct. 22. The sale was held over three days in prior years. All sessions will begin at 10 a.m., Eastern.

“Thoroughbred sales like the October sale gain momentum when they work well for both sellers and buyers,” said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning. “Fall yearling graduates have performed very well on the racetrack and an expanded format will give buyers more selection, more diverse pedigree and more choices. We look upon it as a win-win.”

Online catalogs for the October sale will be available approximately Sept. 30.
