Fallon back on Ouija Board

Ouija Board will be reunited with jockey Kieren Fallon when she returns from a 2 1/2-month absence in the Group 3 September Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.

Winner of the 2004 Eclipse Award winner as best filly or mare on turf, Ouija Board had lost Fallon's services when he signed with trainer Aidan O'Brien last winter. She had been ridden by Jamie Spencer when she sustained an injury in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot at York on June 15. Fallon had been on board when she won both the English and Irish Oaks as well as the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

After the 1 1/4-mile September Stakes, Ouija Board is slated by trainer Ed Dunlop to go in either the 1 1/2-mile Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe or the 1 1/4-mile Prix de l'Opera versus fillies and mares at Longchamp on Oct. 2.

That run will be followed by a proposed trip to Belmont Park for the Breeders' Cup, although it has not been decided whether she will point for the Turf or a defense of her Filly and Mare Turf title.

Eccentric, winner of the 1 1/4-mile Group 3 Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor last Saturday, could be headed to the United States as well, for the 1 1/8-mile Kentucky Cup Classic on Turfway Park's new Polytrack surface on Sept. 17. Trained by Andrew Reid, Eccentric has already recorded seven victories on Lingfield Park's Polytrack, among them the listed 1 1/4-mile Winter Derby on March 19.
