Fairplex pick six pays $78,794

POMONA, Calif. - A three-day pick six carryover of nearly $1 million lured bettors to Fairplex Park on Wednesday, where the track handled a single-day record of more than $10.3 million.

The pick six attracted $2.9 million in fresh money and returned $78,794 to 33 winning tickets. While a slew of weekend longshot winners created the carryover, predictability returned Wednesday as the Los Angeles County Fair entered its third and final week.

The highest win payoff in the sequence (races 6-11) was $30.40 in the final race. Otherwise, form prevailed. The pick six winners were:

Scofield Honour ($4.40), the favorite, in race 6.

Precocious Rene ($5.60), the favorite, in race 7.

Virgo Genius ($7.60), the favorite, in race 8.

Signoretto Sig ($18.80), the fourth favorite, in race 9.

Kimmy Potter ($7.20), the second favorite in the Black Swan Stakes for 2-year-old fillies, in race 10.

Waltz Time ($30.60) was the third-highest price in race 11.

The $78,494 pick six payoff was approximately three times the amount of a mythical $2 win parlay on the six winners. Pick six tickets with five of six on Wednesday received $455.20.

Total handle Wednesday was $10,390,081 and surpassed the previous record, set Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, by $49,208. More than $5 million wagered on Wednesday was from out-of-state locations.
