COLLINSVILLE, Ill. - Six-year-old Glit has put together an amazing run here the last two years. Through the end of 1999, his 4-year-old year, Glit had a record of three wins from 15 starts. But since then he has gone 15 for 20 for trainer Ralph Martinez and owner Louis O'Brien.

Glit has blazing early speed and many of his wins have come at between four and 5 1/2 furlongs, and at the $4,000 to $5,000 level.

His two most recent wins, however, have come at six furlongs for a $7,000 tag, with his latest victory coming in Tuesday's fourth race under regular rider Marcial Campos.

On Saturday night, rookie trainer Holly Armstrong had her first winner when Magic Carbo scored in the sixth race under Uriel Lopez. Armstrong, 27 and a native of Columbus, Ohio, plans to base her stable on the Kentucky circuit. Magic Carbo returned $33.80.

For the second time this year, trainer Charles Walker Jr. went 3 for 3 on a single card. The triple moved Walker into seventh place in the standings. Walker used a different jockey on each of his winners, who were all favored.
