F-T will pay fees at Spa in 2009

The Fasig-Tipton Company will reward those who buy yearlings at its annual auction Monday and Tuesday by paying nomination and entry fees for those yearlings who make it to next year's sextet of juvenile stakes at Saratoga.

The races include the Grade 3 Schuylerville (nomination $100, entry $500), the Grade 2 Adirondack ($150, $750), and Grade 1 Spinaway ($250, $1,250) for fillies, and the Grade 2 Sanford ($150, $750), Grade 2 Saratoga Special ($150, $750), and Grade 1 Hopeful ($250, $1,250) for colts and geldings.

"This is a prestigious group of graded stakes, all of which have been won over the years by Saratoga sales graduates," said Fasig-Tipton president Walt Robertson. "We look forward to working on this and other racing projects with NYRA, which is being very creative in improving purses and opportunities for owners at the home of the best racing in North America."

NYRA president and COO Charles Hayward said: "This is just the beginning of a more dynamic and mutually beneficial relationship between NYRA and Fasig-Tipton at Saratoga."
