"Eye" on Woodbine for February 2 - 6

Email

Thursday, February 2

COLONEL MOFFITT (CLM10000) Closed strongly from a distant 4th over in last and such a kick cannot be ignored in next outing.

WHITE RUSSIAN (NW1) Angled out into the lane, closed strongly to just miss the short priced favorite in most recent effort.

THISTRICKSFORYOU (CLM10000) Rallied well to get for a dead heat for third with the hanging favorite after clearing stretch traffic.

STONEBRIDGE IDOL (NW2) Brushed to command coming past the half, opened up and was much the best. Can win again with similar move.

Friday, February 3

SILVERADO DREAM (CLMHCP20/25000) Left, found no seat, took back, raced third over the last quarter and closed willingly in some traffic. Should be able to launch a full scale effort soon.

YOU THRILL ME (HORSEPLAYER) Closed swiftly to win going away in her division of the 1st leg of the Horseplayer Interactive series and will be hard to beat next time.

NORTHERN PHOTO (NW3) Navigated around a final turn breaker, took the rail with trot but had to escape around a tiring leader. Cleared late but closed well.

PLAY AT WYNN (NW8000FM) Was not on the radar until the stretch, came wide from a distant 4th over and hit sprint speed through the lane chasing the two favorites home.

Saturday, February 4

MUSSELSFRMBRUSSELS (NW4) Was used long and hard to get the lead, battled with the odds-on favorite the last three-eighths, dug in stubbornly in game second best.

KEYSTONE SWAGGER (NW8000) Pressed the well bet leader through the lane not giving an inch but was necked at the wire. Should find his own field soon.

GRIN FOR MONEY (NW17000) Left well, yielded, sat antsy in the pocket and pulled to the third panel, won as best with enough left to take another.

IVE GOT IT ALL (NW5000) Tucked, sat in, got stuck in traffic through the lane, cleared too late to take his best shot but closed willingly.

Monday, February 6

MR BIG HEAD (NW2) Got away slowly and was content sitting at the back, came wide into the stretch and gobbled up ground. A better trip could be all he needs.

OVER AND OUT (DON MILLS) Raced parked, pressed the pace to the lane, gave way grudgingly in the first leg of series. Should improve with any racing luck.

TEXAS RIDGE (DON MILLS) Got the worst of it when cover broke and the pocket horse slipped out. He broke avoiding trouble and continued to break through the wire getting disqualified to boot.

SUNDIAL HANOVER (NW2)Sat in a bunch of traffic, searched, found room following the winner, tipped wide in last steps and just missed. Should get it done in next.
