Opelousas, La. - It was an evening of upsets at Evangeline Downs in Saturday's Louisiana Legends Night. Voodoo Gold's ($5.80) victory in the featured $100,000 D. S. "Shine" Young Futurity was the only one by the eight favorites on the program devoted strictly to Louisiana-breds. Justin's Magic finished second in the five-furlong affair for 2-year-olds followed by Poppa Duke.

J D Man ($11.40) started the fireworks in the Mervin Muniz Memorial Starter Stakes as he turned back a bid from 2-4 favorite Seemeloadandfire to prove best in the first of the night's eight stakes events.

In the Frank A. "Buddy" Abadie for 3-year-fillies, Phone Affair ($16.80) kicked clear to win by five lengths over favored Zarba the Great. Sanctuary's Omooni ($8.60) proved best in the Pola Benoit Memorial for older horses while K Brown ($10.40) won the older filly and mare counterpart, the J. "Archie" Sebastien.

Majestic Commander ($9.40) won his highly anticipated shoot out with even money favorite Zarb?s Dahar in the Junius Delahoussaye Sprint and it was longshot Midnight Judge ($43.20) in the Pierre LeBlanc Ladies Sprint.

Mr. Barracuda ($18.60) pulled off perhaps the biggest upset of the night as he outfinished three-time stakes winner J. D.'s Blue Bayou after a long drive in the B. B. "Sixty" Rayburn Stakes for 3-year-olds.
