Evangeline: Jossy Do It springs upset in Hallowed Dreams

Email

Breaking alertly under Eddie Martin, Jr., Jossy Do It controlled the pace throughout and coasted home 5 3/4 lengths in front in Saturday night’s $50,000 Hallowed Dreams Stakes at Evangeline Downs.

Ada Mae outfinished 5-2 favorite My Lady Lauren for second. The final time of the 5 1/2-furlong dash was 1:03.92 over a fast track.

Trained and owned by David Wolochuk, Jossy Do It ($25.80) was dismissed as the longest shot in the field of 3-year-old fillies despite a solid record that included a win in allowance company at Sam Houston Park in her most recent start and a 2-3-1 record from 9 previous starts at seven different tracks. A Florida-bred daughter of Proud Accolade, Jossy Do It added $30,000 to her bankroll and has now earned more than $78,000.
