European promotional bodies form strategic alliance


The promotional bodies of three major European racing nations have agreed to enter a strategic alliance with the goal of attracting global investment into the European racing and bloodstock industry.

Irish Thoroughbred Marketing, Great British Racing International, and the French Racing and Breeding Committee will join together for the first time to raise awareness toward the global success of European-breds in top races around the world.

“This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to work together and show the world the very best that European racing and breeding has to offer,” said GBRI International Executive Carter Carnegie “The world may be becoming a smaller place, but equally the horseracing industry is expanding all the time and we look forward to working together with ITM and the FRBC to draw international investment in our sport in Europe.”

While the three organizations will remain focused on promoting the worth of their respective nations in the global market, the alliance envisions bringing together the competitive advantages unique to each country when targeting new investors to the region.

“We look forward to working together at European level and I am sure we can make an impact and achieve greater promotion of horseracing’s’ cradle,” said Capucine Houel, executive director of the FRBC. “Europe offers a wide range of opportunities in breeding and racing and our role will be to state it loud and clear.”
