Dabirsim, a multiple French Group 1 winner and recipient of the Cartier Award as Europe’s champion 2-year-old colt in 2011, will begin his stallion career in 2014 at Gestüt Karlshof near Frankfurt, Germany, Racing Post reports.

The 4-year-old son of Hat Trick went undefeated in five starts in France as a juvenile, with his wins including the Group 1 Prix Morny and the Grand Criterium as well as the Group 3 Prix de Cabourg. He retired the following year with five wins from seven starts for career earnings of $664,037.

Bred in France by Liliane Monfort, Dabirsim was a $38,259 purchase at the 2010 Arqana Deauville yearling sale by German owner Simon Springer. He was trained during his racing career by Christophe Ferland.

Dabirsim is from the first crop of Hat Trick, by Sunday Silence, who stands at Gainesway Farm in Lexington, Ky. He is out of the Royal Academy mare Rumored, who sold to French-based Winning Bloodstock Agency with Dabirsim in utero at the 2008 Keeneland November sale. Rumored is the dam of four winners from seven foals to race, including stakes winner Preferred Yield.

Dabirsim’s second dam is Italian Oaks winner Bright Generation, and he also comes from the family of Italian Group 3 winner Fathayer.

A stud fee for Dabirsim’s debut season will be announced at a later date.
