Attendance at Atlantic City Race Course on May 4, closing day of the track's four-day meet, was 5,614, the highest in 10 years there, track officials said. Atlantic City, which is owned by Greenwood Racing, has held short meets at the track for the past five years in order to retain rights to conduct simulcasting at the location. . . . Baron de Vaux, a four-time stakes winner who was third in the 1990 Belmont Stakes, has been purchased by Brian Wallis to stand at his Dormello II Stud in Decatur, Tex. Baron de Vaux, who is 19 and formerly stood in British Columbia, will stand for a fee of $500.
