The New York Racing Association has hired Thomas DiDesidero, formerly of Comverse Technologies Inc., as its comptroller. DiDesidero will be responsible for all accounting functions and will report to NYRA's chief financial officer, Irene Posio. . . . Donald Paulik, a trainer on the Chicago circuit, was arrested Monday after being indicted by a grand jury for using the illegal synthetic narcotic etorphine, commonly known as elephant juice, on a horse who twice won last fall at Hawthorne. Paulik had already been ruled off Illinois tracks after the positive test.
