Ticket applications for this year's Breeders' Cup championships at Churchill Downs - prices range from $30 to $350 - are now available online. Tampa Bay Downs is raising purses by $500 per overnight race effective Saturday, bringing average daily projected overnight purses to a track-record $133,000 per day. The increase comes in part because of record all-sources wagering on the track's March 18 Festival Day. . . . Jen Budge has been named executive director of the Equine Scholars Program at Georgetown College in Georgetown, Ky. Thoroughbred racing artist Pierre Bellocq was at Churchill Downs on Tuesday to complete the image of jockey Mike Smith, who rode the victorious Giacomo in last year's Kentucky Derby, on the mural that depicts every jockey to win the Derby. Smith is shown wearing the teal and green silks of winning owners Jerry and Ann Moss. . . . Jockey Agapito Delgadillo won his 1,000th race Sunday when he rode Sunday Cash to victory in the second race at Los Alamitos.
