The New York Racing Association board of trustees voted on Wednesday to add three new trustees: Leonard Riggio, the chairman of Barnes and Noble Inc.; Dennis Dammerman, the former senior vice president of finance for General Electric; and Charles Hayward, the chief executive officer of NYRA. NYRA also announced that Michael D. Jarvis had resigned from the board of trustees, citing "schedule restraints." . . . Turfway Park will keep its stable area open for training this summer during its off-season. The deadline for stall requests is March 15. . . . Senor Cielo Two, whose seven victories at Philadelphia Park last season included the Devils Honor Handicap and who was claimed four times during 2005, was named the track's horse of the year and top claiming horse Wednesday. Other horses honored were Sky Valley Road, 2-year-old male; Smart and Fancy, 2-year-old filly; North Potomac, 3-year-old male; Miss Smart Me Up, 3-year-old filly; Banjo Picker, older male; Valley of the Gods, older female; and outstanding claim, Max West.
