The Breeders' Cup board of directors elected William Farish Jr. as chairman and D.G. Van Clief as president on Thursday, the Breeders' Cup announced. The elections came two weeks after the board was pared from 46 elected members to 13 in an effort to make the board more involved in Breeders' Cup's business operations. . . . Canadian horseplayers will be able to participate in the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks future wager pools for the first time after the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency approved Woodbine's application on Friday. The agency also approved common-pool wagering with Churchill Downs on the Oaks-Derby double.
