Etc. . . .

Purses for the Fair Grounds meet at Louisiana Downs will be increased by 18 percent beginning Thursday because of strong business at Fair Grounds's offtrack betting parlors. The track has also added five stakes for Louisiana-breds to this meet, and the changes push purses to about $370,000 a day, a record for Louisiana. . . . Yankee Victor - a Grade 1 winner whose progeny so far include 2005 stakes winners Real Dandy, Yankee Master, and Swede, as well as Grade 1-placed Northern Mischief - will stand at the KRA's Jeju Stud and Training Farm on Jeju Island, Korea, beginning in February. Yankee Victor (Saint Ballado-Highest Carol, by Caro) was sold last week to the Korea Racing Association in a deal brokered by Kentucky bloodstock agent Tom Clark.
