Wayne Shumate, a former president of Racing Commissioners International and a former member of the Kentucky Racing Commission and Kentucky Harness Racing Commission, died on Nov. 14 in Lexington, Ky., following an illness and a car accident the previous week. Shumate was 71. . . . Richard Bomze, a New York owner, has been re-elected to a third term as president of the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association. Also elected to the board were owners' representatives Terry Finley, Charles Reiss, Mike Shanley, Bill Terrill, and Steve Zorn; and trainers' representatives Gary Contessa, Pat Kelly, Kiaran McLaughlin, Linda Rice, and Rick Violette. . . . Grade 1 winner High Yield will relocate from Ashford Stud in Versailles, Ky., to Hill 'n' Dale Farm in Lexington, Ky., for the 2006 season, Hill 'n' Dale has announced. His fee will be $7,500, down from $15,000 last year. An 8-year-old, High Yield (Storm Cat-Scoop the Gold, by Forty Niner) is the sire of multiple stakes-winner Amazing Buy and has two crops to race.
