Wimbledon, who won the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby in 2004 for owner Jim McIngvale, has been retired and will enter stud at Valor Farm in Pilot Point, Texas. He will stand for $4,000 as the property of Clarence Scharbauer Jr. . . . Jockey Todd Kabel won his 3,000th race Sunday, when he guided Sprightly to victory in the second race at Woodbine. Trainer Scott Lake won his 3,000th race Sunday, when he guided Unaccounted Gift to victory in the seventh race at Philadelphia Park. . . . General admission to Remington Park is now free, with the track scheduled to open a casino by the end of November.
