Fit to Fight, winner of the Metropolitan, Brooklyn, and Suburban handicaps in 1984 and sire of Grade 1 winners Key Contender and Fit to Scout, has been pensioned, Lane's End has confirmed. Fit to Fight, a 26-year-old Chieftain horse, will retire to Blue Ridge Farm in Virginia. . . . Mountaineer canceled its scheduled card Monday because of unsafe track conditions. . . . Jockeys Luis Garcia and Ryan Fogelsonger were released from the hospital Sunday with minor injuries after the two were involved in a spill in the eighth race at Laurel Park. Garcia and Fogelsonger were both expected to miss several days of riding to recuperate.
