Etc . . . .

Overnight purses at Hoosier Park will be increased 10 percent starting on Friday. The added stakes, all $40,000 races restricted to Massachusetts-breds, are: the Louise Kimball on Oct. 8, the John Kirby on Oct. 22, the Amelia Peabody on Nov. 5, and the Norman Hall on Nov. 19. . . . Graded stakes winners St Averil and Gators N Bears, both Grade 1-placed runners, will enter stud in 2006 at the Maryland Stallion Station. Both will remain in training for the fall.. . . Thistledown will host the sixth annual silent auction to benefit New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program on Breeders' Cup Day, Oct. 29.
