Total handle on the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Racecourse on May 21 has been revised upward by approximately $3 million to a record $63,230,573, according to the Maryland Jockey Club, which owns Pimlico. The total handle on the 13-race Preakness card was also revised upward, to a record $91,028,704, up $3.2 million from last year's record of $87,858,878. . . . The 2005 Sovereign Awards, which annually honor the best in Canadian Thoroughbred racing and breeding, will be presented at the Wyndham Place Hotel at the Toronto Airport, on Friday, Dec. 16. To be eligible, horses must make at least three starts in Canada this year by Nov. 27.
