Youbet.com, the account-wagering company, had earnings of $1 million on revenue of $18.5 million in the first quarter of 2005, the company announced Thursday, compared with earnings of $15,000 in the first quarter last year. Handle in the quarter was $88.3 million, up 23 percent and a record for the company in a first quarter. . . . Hastings will hold a Kentucky Derby Day promotion based on longshot General John B, owned by Ross McLeod, the CEO of Great Canadian Gaming Corp., which owns Hastings. Three people chosen in a random drawing at Hastings will receive $250,000, $150,000, and $100,000 if General John B wins the Derby.
