Wednesday night's card at Woodbine was canceled because of high winds, and the feature, the Deputy Minister Stakes, will be added to Sunday's program and not re-drawn. Ten races, rather than the usual nine, will be offered next Thursday and Friday. . . . A sale-record $718,200 Danehill-Mythical Creek (Pleasant Tap) filly that agent Charlie Gordon-Watson bought from Ballygallon Stud was the session-leader in early selling on day of three of the five-day Tattersalls October yearling sale in England on Thursday. At the first of two Thursday sessions, 80 lots brought $8,120,196, producing an average price of $101,502 and a median of $71,820. . . . The MGM Grand in Las Vegas will again host the $212,000 Daily Racing Form/National Thoroughbred Racing Association National Handicapping Championship, on Jan. 25-26, 2002.
