Susan Bala, the owner and president of the North Dakota rebate shop Racing Services Inc., has appealed her conviction for running an illegal gambling business and laundering money, The Associated Press reported. A lawyer for Bala, who was convicted Feb. 4 on 12 felony counts, is arguing that the government did not present any evidence that Bala broke the law. . . .
