Etc. . . .

Celtic Silence, Godolphin's main hope for the Epsom Derby on June 9, has been ruled out of the race after he returned lame in his left foreleg following a workout at Newmarket on Monday morning. Godolphin must now choose from among Equerry, Tobougg, and Wareed for the Derby. . . . Keltos, recently purchased by Gary Tanaka for a future career in the United States, won the listed Prix de Pontarme at Chantilly on Tuesday by three-quarters of a length over Spanish Don. The victory by Keltos, a 3-year-old French-bred colt, was his third in four starts this year. . . . Include, the probable favorite for Saturday's Massachusetts Handicap, breezed a bullet half-mile in 47 seconds at Laurel Park on Tuesday in his final tune-up for the $500,000 Grade 2 race at Suffolk Downs. The work was the fastest of 16 at the distance on the fast track.
