Next year's Royal Meeting at Ascot has already been rescheduled for York on June 14-18, but a venue has yet to be selected for Ascot's two-day September Festival. . . . British trainer Alec Stewart died Wednesday at his home in Newmarket at age 49 after a long illness. John Nelson, whose daughter Kim is an activist in saving Thoroughbreds from slaughter and married to trainer Nick Zito, died Monday after a long battle with lung cancer. He was 61.
