Jockeys in Kentucky will for the time being be required to continue to wear helmets and comply with safety standards approved several years ago. The Kentucky Horse Racing Authority voted Monday to give jockeys greater leeway in their choice of helmets, but certain administrative steps are necessary before the change can be made. . . . Gemstar-TV Guide named Ryan O'Hara chief operating officer of Television Games Network on Wednesday. O'Hara, previously the network's senior vice president of business development and strategic planning, was appointed two weeks after TVG's president, Mark Wilson, resigned as president to become chairman. . . . The last of 4,500 tons of structural steel was lifted into place as part of the clubhouse renovation at Churchill Downs on Tuesday. The track's $121 million renovation is scheduled for completion in April 2005.
