Jockey David Lopez suffered a mild concussion and was taken to Alta Bates Hospital for a precautionary CT scan after falling when his mount, Italian Bar Road, propped badly in the lane in Sunday's seventh race at Golden Gate Fields. . . . Joe Judice had four wins on the 10-race Sunday card at Tampa Bay Downs. Also Sunday, jockey Terry Houghton won two races in his return from 14 months off because of a severe head injury. . . . Ramon Dominguez, the leading rider in the nation for wins in 2003, said he is taking the rest of the year off. Dominguez, who has 456 wins this year, 46 more than the injured runner-up, Russell Baze, plans to resume riding Jan. 1. . . . Five tracks canceled racing Sunday because of a snowstorm that hit the East Coast: Aqueduct, Charles Town, Laurel, Mountaineer, and Philadelphia Park. Sunday's card at Aqueduct, including the $75,000 Damon Runyon Stakes for New York-bred 2-year-olds, was scheduled to be run on Wednesday. . . . First post on weekdays at the Gulfstream Park meeting, which runs from Jan. 3 through April 25, will be 1:30 p.m., with a 1 p.m. post on weekends. Beginning March 19, Friday programs will start at 2:45 p.m. and will be followed by a concert.
