Trainer Eddie Plesa Jr. had four winners from five starters Friday at Calder. Plesa won with Brackenber (third race, $11), All the Honor (fourth, $8.20), Ma Come Pretendi (sixth, $6.20), and Count Montbrook (ninth, $8.20). . . . Najran, who equaled Dr. Fager's North American record for a mile when he won this year's Westchester Handicap, will enter stud next year at Hopewell Farm near Midway, Ky. A 4-year-old son of Runaway Groom who won 7 of his 15 career starts and earned $483,448, Najran will be syndicated and will stand for a fee of $7,500 live foal. . . . Early Flyer, a Grade 2 winner by Gilded Time, has been retired and will enter stud at Valor Farm in Pilot Point, Texas. He will stand for a fee of $2,500. . . . A benefit auction will be held Saturday at Hoosier Park to raise funds for Cindy Patrick, who was injured Nov. 11 while exercising a horse.
