Canterbury Park confirmed Wednesday that it will be the site of the sixth annual Claiming Crown on July 17, 2004. A six-race series for claiming horses run under starter allowance conditions, the Claiming Crown has been held at Canterbury every year except 2002, when it was at Philadelphia Park. . . . Cobra Lady ($8.80) defeated 2-1 favorite Malvern Rose by a length in Tuesday's $78,400 Mountaineer HBPA Handicap at Mountaineer Race Track. Cobra Lady covered six furlongs on a fast track in 1:11.48. . . . Apprentice jockey Mick Ruis won four races Tuesday at Turf Paradise. It was the third time that Ruis, 16, had four winners on a Turf Paradise card since the track's meet began Sept. 26. . . . Grant Holcomb, director of racing at Emerald Downs since its inception in 1996, has resigned. Holcomb, 52, will remain at Emerald through Dec. 31.
