New York City Off-Track Betting Corporation has rejoined the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the NTRA announced Thursday. NYCOTB, the largest offtrack betting company in the country, first joined the NTRA in 1998, but dropped out after one year. . . . NBC's broadcast of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday was the fourth-highest rated show on network television last week and the highest-rated racing broadcast since the 1990 Kentucky Derby, according to final figures released Thursday. The 90-minute show's ratings were up 25 percent from last year's broadcast, with 24 million people watching in whole or in part, according to NBC. . . . Arlington Park will revert to a 1 p.m. first post beginning June 25, giving up the 1:30 first post it adopted this season in an effort to attract increased simulcast attention. The post time change applies to Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, as Friday's post will remain 3 p.m. through August and moves to 2:30 for September.
