Topped by a $380,000 Double Honor-T.G. for Wanda filly that William Condren bought from Farnsworth Farms, agent, the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's spring 2-year-old sale ended Saturday evening with declines from last year. The four-day auction sold 704 lots for $14,923,000, down 3 percent from last year's sale, when 673 lots sold, while the average price this year fell 7 percent to $21,197, and median declined 13 percent to $13,000. . . . Services for Erin Smith, wife of Dan Smith, former director of media relations at Del Mar, were scheduled for Wednesday at Encinitas Mortuary, 340 Melrose Avenue, in Encinitas, Calif. . . . A severe snowstorm forced the cancellation of both the Saturday and Sunday cards at Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta. Racing is scheduled to resume Wednesday. . . The Minnesota House of Representatives has approved, by a vote of 71-60, legislation that would authorize the Minnesota Lottery to operate slot machines at Canterbury Park. The bill needs further approval in the state legislature to become law.
