Jockey Joe Judice, the leading rider at Tampa Bay Downs, won five races on the track's Monday card. One of his victories came in the first race aboard Wynn Dot Comma, who equaled the track record for three furlongs of 33.20 seconds in the first 2-year-old race of the meet. . . . Hawthorne will honor jockey Earlie Fires on Saturday with a bobblehead doll giveaway to the first 3,000 fans in attendance. A Hall of Fame rider and a mainstay on the Chicago circuit, Fires is featured in the familiar silks of Chicago owner Leonard Lavin's Glen Hill Farm. . . . The 12th annual Shoemaker Foundation dinner and auction will be held July 3 at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. The foundation, which provides medical assistance to racing industry workers, will present its Lifetime Achievement Award to Joe Harper, president of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.
