The Singapore Turf Club has canceled its international meeting at Kranji Racecourse on May 17 because of the SARS epidemic. As a result, the second leg of the World Series Racing Championship, the $1.8 million Singapore Airlines International Cup, will not be run. . . . Former jockey Dale Long, who over a 20-year riding career competed at tracks all over California died Thursday in Santa Rosa, Calif., at age 64. . . . Finger Lakes, which began its meet Saturday, had to cancel its Tuesday card because of a lack of entries. . . . Perry Compton won six races on Saturday's 10-race card at Fonner Park. It was the 12th time at the meet he has ridden four or more winners on a card. . . . Pimlico will offer a daily double on the Pimlico Special, to be run Friday, May 16, and the Preakness Stakes, a day later. There will also be head-to-head wagering at Pimlico on 11 of the 12 stakes races on Friday and Saturday.
