Racing authorities in Britain, France, Ireland, and Germany have imposed a 10-day quarantine on jockeys returning from Hong Kong as a precaution against severe acute respiratory syndrome. . . . Youbet.com stock closed at $2.48 on Tuesday, up 33 cents, or 15.35 percent, after the company filed its annual report for 2002 with regulators. In the report, Youbet said it lost $9 million in 2002, compared with a loss of $14.8 million in 2001. . . . Indiana Downs officials on Monday met with the Clark County, Ind., council about the possibility of building an offtrack betting facility in Jeffersonville, Ind., across the Ohio River from downtown Louisville, Ky. The issue was tabled for a later date. . . . Les Benton has resigned his positions as CEO of the Emirates Racing Association and chairman of the Dubai World Cup Committee, effective in mid-June, when he will return to his native Australia. . . . The "Horseplay at Indiana Downs" television show will debut this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The 30-minute program will be on WIPX, carried by the Time Warner, Comcast, and Insight cable systems in the Indianapolis area, and over the air on Channel 63.
