Etc. . . .

Turfway Park's leading jockey, Jason Lumpkins, broke Kris Prather's 2001 record of 109 wins during a Turfway winter-spring meet on Monday when he collected his 110th victory aboard Sir Grunt in the fourth race. Through Monday, Lumpkins, riding his first full meet at Turfway Park after moving his tack from northern California, was 73 wins in front of Rafael Bejarano, who is second in the Turfway standings, and was ranked second in the nation in wins behind Russell Baze. . . .The Keeneland Association and the Maker's Mark bourbon distillers have announced that the annual Keeneland commemorative Maker's Mark bottle will honor Secretariat. A portion of proceeds from the sale of the bottle will go to fund a new racehorse retraining facility that the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation will open next spring at the Kentucky Horse Park.
