Etc. . . .

Danuta, a maiden winner at Belmont for Eoin Harty last September, won the $200,000 Moonshell Mile at Nad Al Sheba in Dubai on Thursday, leading throughout to defeat her Godolphin stablemate Ashraaf by 7 3/4 lengths. Danuta has several options for her next start, with the UAE 1000 Guineas on March 13 and the UAE Oaks on April 3 possible preps for the Kentucky Oaks. . . . Magic Weisner worked at Laurel Park on Thursday for the first time since he returned last month to trainer Nancy Alberts's barn after a bout with West Nile virus. The runner-up in last year's Preakness, Magic Weisner has not raced since finishing second in the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth last August. . . . Churchill Downs has reassigned David Sweazy, its longtime director of operations in charge of day-to-day management, who now will focus on the track's multimillion-dollar renovation. Greg Bush, who has been the general manager of Churchill's Trackside training and simulcast facility, will take over most of Sweazy's former duties, and Rick Smith, director of mutuels, will assume most of Bush's duties at Trackside.
